DESIGN BRIEF
GROUP NORMS
I am partners with Tyler, and we both started discussing about what we are going to do. Both of us are comfortable with Inventor, Excel, and making our weebly's. We agreed to completely split up the work, so that both of us get an equal share of the work. For example, in order to begin the Define the Problem step of the design process, Tyler made the design brief while I made the gantt chart.

The Happy Meal toys are targeted toward children, because they are the target audience of the Happy Meal. In order to increase sales of the Happy Meal, McDonald's models their toys after popular TV shows and movies. The kids will want the toy, and in order to get one, they must buy a Happy Meal.

SAFETY REGULATIONS
When it comes to small toys, there are many safety regulations. According to the CPSC, toys that are meant for children under 12 must go through a third party to check that it is safe for kids. When it goes to this third party, they make sure that all of the parts are not too small (choking hazard). They also make sure that all the materials that were used are good for kids. And as for warning labels, it is important to put the Choking Hazard label on a product who consists of small parts that may be a choking hazard to children under the age of 3.

CONstruct and test a prototype
I showed the minion to my mom, and the first thing she did was laugh. She liked how realistic it looked, and especially liked which minion we chose to recreate. (Bee-do-bee-do). She then suggested that we put the "clothes" on the entire minion, and not just the front part of it.
I then showed the minion to my older sister, and like my mom, she laughed. She said that it reminded her of herself. (Her and her friend dressed up as minions for twin day last year during homecoming week.) She also recommended that next time we should attach the megaphone to the minion's hands, and not have it separate.

evaluate the solution
I have to agree with my older sister, and next time, if we had more class time, I would like to have attached the megaphone to the minion's hands. I feel that the minion would look more "complete" that way. I also agree with my mom about the minion's "clothes". Next time, we should wrap a decal around the whole thing, and not just the front half. I also think that, if we had more class time, that we should add two eyes instead of one. I feel that it would've been more challenging to put two eyes on our figurine. Plus, I would like to compare the two styles of minion eyes, which is harder to create and why?
This project was really fun. Because we got to pick our partners this time, I felt that my partner and I, Tyler, could really make an outstanding project. It was also really fun trying to make a minion from Despicable Me, and attempting to actually make it look like a minion. Because Tyler and I are really good friends, it was easy working with him, and splitting up the responsibilities. This project helped me learn a little bit more about Inventor. Because there was more than one way to make the minion, I could really test my knowledge on if I knew my Inventor skills or not. (I feel that I know Inventor pretty well now.) This was a good project to conclude my freshman year of engineering.
