Like all the other projects, the design process is one of the major engineering concepts that will be used in our project. We have already completed the define the problem and the generating concepts phases. We are still in the develop the solution phase. For our alarm system, we have to incorporate an electronic chip that activates the alarm itself. In this case, Multisim may come in handy. We will also need to figure out how to power the alarm system without using a bulky power source. We will also be working with different types of materials that can hold the alarm system in place.
PROTOTYPE CONSTRUCTION, testing, and data
The construction of the prototype will begin with the construction of the alarm system itself. We will have to figure out how to either program a chip or create a closed circuit that will enable the alarm to sound when activated. After we figure out how to do that, we will have to insert the circuit/chip into a material that will enclose it and secure it from the outside environment. This material must be light. Once that step has been completed, we will have to figure out how to attach a string to the alarm so that it can be attached to any zipper.

In terms of software, we may use Multisim to program our device, however if we can create a working prototype without it we will so that our device doesn't have to rely on a computer to work. We will use wires, a toggle switch/button, a power source(likely a battery), and a buzzer/alarm. We also will need to explore types of plastic that we can enclose the electronics in.
